Inclusion in the canard community

This is the official organization for Canard enthusiasts. The Canard Owners and Builders Association (COBA) is run and managed by a team of canard builders and owners who want to strengthen the Rutan-inspired aircraft community.

We represent the canard community in EAA's Type Club Coalition, ensuring that policies and changes made at the nationwide level have input from canard aircraft owners.

Canard Aviation Magazine

Receive Canard Aviation Magazine, the quarterly publication of the canard community. This full-color publication is mailed to members four times a year. (This is the same publication that started as the CSA Newsletter.)

In addition to the physical mailing, it can be emailed to your primary address or sent to a special address that you may have for your Kindle, iPad, or other e-reader. Current and back issues will be archived in the Documents section.

Along with Canard Aviation Magazine, members can download the 30+ years of back issues of the Central States Association Newsletter and the Rutan Aircraft Factory's Canard Pusher Newsletter. That's more than 250 magazines available to all members!

Find them all in the Documents section.

Active discussion forums

CanardOwners.com offers an online forum where members discuss building, flying, and maintaining canard aircraft. No matter what your question or issue, there's usually someone in our community that has the answer or solution.

The forum is accessible through a web browser or via email. The forum archives are 100% searchable, which gives you instant access to the community's knowledge base.

Community directory and maps

CanardOwners.com makes it easy to connect with other builders and pilots. We provide a directory of all our members along with a map of all the canard aircraft (even non-members) around the world. Members can find others who live nearby or search our membership for people who have the same aircraft type.

The Complete Squadron III Canard Library

Squadron III has compiled the largest library of canard-aircraft documents. COBA had teamed up with Squadron III to make this incredible resource available to the whole canard community. See the index / bibliography for topics and sources.
