Inclusion in the canard community

This is the official organization for Canard enthusiasts. Combining the Central States Association (CSA) newsletter with the community, we are building the Canard Owners and Builders Association (COBA) website, We are run and managed by a team of canard builders and owners who want to strengthen the Rutan-inspired aircraft community.

The CSA Newsletter

Receive the Central States Association newsletter, the quarterly publication of the canard community. This full-color publication is mailed to members four times a year.

In addition to the physical mailing, it can be emailed to your primary address or sent to a special address that you may have for your Kindle, iPad, or other e-reader. Current and back issues will be archived in the Documents section.

Active discussion forums offers a number of forums where members discuss building, flying, and maintaining canard aircraft. No matter what your question or issue, there's usually someone in our community that has the answer or solution.

The forums are accessible through a web browser or via email. The forum archives are categorized and searchable, which gives you instant access to the community's knowledge base.

When you become a member, you will be asked about your interests in the various canard types. That will determine which forum discussions you are included in. You can opt in or out of the forum, or its emailed messages, at any time.

Community directory and maps makes it easy to connect with other builders and pilots. We provide a directory of all our members along with a map of all the canard aircraft (even non-members) around the world. Members can find others who live nearby or search our membership for people who have the same aircraft type.

Additional Resources

The website is built on a platform that allows us to offer members a number of benefits. All are free to members and can be made publicly viewable, shared only with members, or restricted to approved participants only:
  • Blogs and photo albums. Start one to chronicle your project, document a trip, or share photos from an event.
  • Discussion groups / online forums. Members can start their own forum or email group covering specialty topics like auto engine conversions, avionics, flight planning, or Velocity events.
